Anyone taken courses at Front Sight?

I'm thinking of attending a 4 day defensive handgun shoot at Front Sight in either April or May, and was wondering if anyone here had taken the course, and if so, what did they think of it? I'd be grateful on hearingabout how good hotels were - for example, any oc allowed there?

Be seeing you...

It is HIGHLY unlikely that a Hotel is going to allow you to OC.
Keep the fact you have a firearm hidden from hotel staff/mgr.
They will ask/tell you to secure it in your car or with hotel security.

Do a search for front site and a few threads should emerge.

Good Luck, have fun and be safe.

Front Sight has great instruction, you will enjoy it. They will try to sell you so just ignore the hype. I will go again. I have had their 4 day defensive handgun and 4 day tacticle shot gun. Next month I will go for the 4 day tacticle rifle, and this spring after college is over I will take my daughters down for the handgun and attend again.

The Bestwestern will let you have your fireams in the rooms. Its a nice motel and they have a good breakfast.

Thanks for the replies, guys - I am really lookin' forward to it now. :)

I wasn't thinking about OC'ing myself, as I believe it would be illegal for me as a foreign citizen to do so (?). I heard that Parumph isOC, and was curious about seeing people OC'ing.

I shall berenting a gun fromFront Sight for the course...can't wait!

Pardon me sir, but I have to ask. Since you are a UK citizen and as such, may not own and carry handguns, why are you considering this type of training? Are you planning to move from your country?

Just curious. We here in Virginia enjoy the fact that our elected officials have not touched (much) our God-given rights. I, as many of my follow Virginians, carry open a good deal of the time and concealed the rest of the time.

Best of luck to you in your quest for training and do try to get your island turned around and headed in the right direction. And tell them to get rid of all of those cameras and portable fingerprinting devices.

Not planning to move...yet! However, since I always like to get some decent range time in on my trips to the States, and since I can only make a trip once per year, I thought I would do something a bit more memorable and formal with my range time this year.

Thank goodness for your 2nd Amendment!

I have lived in Pahrump, and still have family that reside there. OC is VERY common and will not get you noticed. Can not speak for the hotels there beyond this: the last time there was a gunshow at the local Hotel/convention space... the doors had signs asking to please carry long guns out the back door by the convention space, rather than through the casino. I bought a RIA .45 and went through the casino to the coffee shop with it in it's case, no one blinked.

I have FS certificates for courses too, and am waiting for the right time for the wife and I to go do theDefensive Pistol.. let us know how you like it!
