Yes, I know that this information is from the 109th Congress, but it is nevertheless pretty good. Not a lot of surprises here, actually.

Since Mike DeWine was defeated in 2006, if I could make a list of the most anti gun senators of the 110th Congress, I would replace his name with that of Barack Obama.

An interesting point to note is that the People's Republics of California, New York, and Massachussetts have both their senators on the list (my list also includes both Illinois senators). Also, five of the ten on the most anti gun representatives list are from the people's Republics of California and New York. Gee, what a shock!:what:

Lincoln did us a major disfavor when he made it difficult to secede. We'd be much better off if California would just go.



Would anyone put John Warner on that list?

dont forget ama-gi...when it all hits the fan and they come, like goosesteppers in the night, to take our guns, good ole Texas is still legally able to secede from the union. A little added perk for the state that was a country.

So when the liberals pass the bill to cripple honest americans and give all the power to the criminals, I'm makin a B-line to the lone star state and secedin.

If thats true I might just have to move there if the crap hits the fan I just hope they'll take an Aussie :celebrate that will become an American when he can :D

Didn't work out for Texas any better than anyone else when they tried it.

I don't view independence as some sort of legal technicality anyway. It's right there in out Declaration. "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness"

Ama-gi, texas never seceding from the Union...they were annexed back in 1845 by their own will. It is free to leave whenever they want. And Rogue, dont worry about it...when it hits the fan you can become a Texan. Because at that point being an American will be like being a Frenchy. Once badass but now just a socialist pushover.

And imperialism...yeah its good to see that our congressional representatives arent among the worst...too bad our governor is.

This is where things get tricky...depending on who you listen to. The North called what Texas did secession, and the Texans just claimed their state constitutional right (kind of like us calling the 2nd Amendment a right, while the gun grabbers call it an antiquated non necessity) The north lumped Texas in with the south and thus they fought on the side of the rebels. I seemed to have mispoke when I said they never seceded since the winners often write the history books, but there have been law cases brought up to argue whether Texas is a legal part of the US based on the contradicting viewpoints of whether they seceded or not.

But yes...didnt work so well back in the Civil War time...times are different and I wonder what would happen if Texas said, "screw it, im outta here".

Texas boys did indeed fight in the war. A famous confederate officer named General Hood lost an arm in the ascent up Little Round Top in the battle of Gettysburg. He was a major general and a division commander.

And now there is an Army fort in Texas named after him: Ft. Hood.
