Do these non-scientific internet polls really make any difference? I don't mind taking the 15 seconds to vote in them, but do they really matter?

I once believed they don't matter. However, sheep are sheep. If the gunnies load up a poll, the neutral or mediocre anti's can be influenced by what they perceive as a large number of 'regular' citizens taking a pro gun stance. 'Follow the crowd it must be ok' mentality.

I have my doubts that the results will change any antis minds (or is that an oxymoron?) but I participate simply to deny them any ammo that could be used against us. You KNOW that if this survey ends up with a clear majority saying 'yes' it will be published like wallpaper for years to come, scientific or not.
