Afew shops in LV had cars driven through the front doors and all or most of the inventory that was left out was stolen.

The shops I've worked at inLV didn't leave any firearms out, they all go into the safes.

Inside job comes to mind. But it probably has nothing to do with it, just a thought.
The guys at Dominion are my friends, and even though I don't work at Dominion but in the same field, I'm somewhat offended by that comment.

Yeah I understand where you are coming from, That being said youhave to look at it from all angles I like the people that work there if I didn't then I would not give them my money. Something like this you have to look at everyone not just current employees former employees, also did anyone leave the company on bad terms?

Also issues with the alarm system, was it ever discussed with a customer even in passing. Some things to think about.

Nothing to be offended about. There are people from all over who are on these forums and very few even know these people let alone are friends with them. We are just talking about these things and offering thoughts based on what information each of us has. That you have personal information about the situation and the employees is helpful to us in understanding the situation.

Instead of being offended by speculation why not just say something like: I am friends with all the employees there and familiar with the business and it's operation and am confident that "inside job" is not an issue in this case. ;)

Dominion charges $8 for the range fee, plus $18.95 for 50 rounds of 40 s&w ball ammo

That about $30 with taxes folks, I'd call that robbery.

i am truly saddened by this news. i also am friends with those guys at Dominion and i know they work hard to maintain a business that gives us a place to shoot in a country where there are far too few places...and fewer everyday...

i hope the thieves are caught and the guns are returned....

I can understand what people are saying, but still it's the fact of the matter.I know it's SOP for investigators to quetion the most likely suspects (husbands of murdered wives and such), but you can't tell me those suspects dont still get offended anyway when they are innocent.

No one I know of the ever the only people that I know who left working there did not leave on bad terms, they left because theyare in the military, and when they come back they have open doors left to them to begin work again.

Wow, you have to pay 4-6 bucks more per box than what wal-mart sells it for, but guess what genius walmart doesn't let you shoot it in their store now do they?

Do you really think they are getting rich off of ammo sales and range fees? And even if they're making a fortune off the business who cares its a business not a commune.

I don't see you volunteering to take on the risk, construct, operate and insure a range for the rest of us to use free of charge so why should you expect Dominion to do the same.

If you do decide to open up a free of charge range please be sure and let the rest of us know as i'm sure we'd all love another place to shoot.

True dat 1967 Ford Mustang 390ci big-block fastback. None of us knowwhat theoverhead, the insurance, the utilities, etc. etc. etc. costs. On top of salaries for employees that act as range bosses / security.

They sure are nice fellas at Dominion and I'm sorry they got burglarized but not every indoor range in Virginia makes you buy ammo at the range. If only they'd let us shoot the Wal-Mart ammo!

We don't have enough places to shoot in the Richmond area

Yeah, but there is no place to shoot it

Dominion has no one to blame but themselves for the burglary:

http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news/policebeat.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-03-25-0081.html

"Kliesen and owner Jerry Thompson said alarm systems on the doors and motion detectors inside the cinder-block building did not function. Foster said police are still investigating why the alarms did not work, but Thompson confirmed yesterday that the business had not made monthly checks with a monitoring agency to make sure the system was operable. He said there was no record of the break-in when he checked Saturday, even though the system was online."
