Does anyone have the NC GS statutes that I could print off and carry with me to show to an officer if he happens to stop me based on his opinion that its not right and thinks he can charge me.

Go to the OC map and click on NC. The information is there, but what you might be looking for probably isn't. There is no part that says you are legal to OC, it just doesn't say you are not legal to do so.

what county are you in?

I have an email from my county sheriff stating that OC is in fact legal -- I keep it wrapped around my CC permit, just in case....

I know on the Meck. County Sheriff's website their is something you can print out, it's from chip baily (county sheriff for Mecklemburg) and it's a pamphlet that he has written for purchase permit applicants.

Page three states:

"Handguns must be carried in plain view. They must no be carried in a pocket, purse, or under a car seat or in any other concealed manner unless you have a concealed Handgun Permit."

Please tell me that you're in Wake County. I would love to have something like that from my sheriff.

Best I could get in writing was from Raleigh PD District 22 Captain Hardy.
