Since a lot of us are in rural areas, and PA and Virginia are somewhat similiar in geography and natural resources....well were Americans too... Whats your take on this?

They deleted my post over onDefensiveCarry.com and slapped me with a warning infraction for sayin b~slapped. Before the post got deleted there were several pro Obama posts!! Hopefully you guys here are a little more 1st amendment friendly.

It looks like obamas just slapped all us rural church going folks in the face.
He said today<SATURDAY> in a townhall meeting that we wouldnt back down from this statement, then here a couple hours ago after clinton bite back he flip flopped and said he was out of line.

""I didn’t say it as well as I should have, because the truth is these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation, those are important,” Obama said in Muncie, Ind., minutes before Clinton jumped in and called his remarks “elitist.”

“But what is absolutely true is that people want to feel like they’re being listened to. And so they pray, and they count on each other and they count on their families,” Obama continued

Looks like he didnt back down from the gun part... So we all know hes anti-gun, and made his point...Now Hillary is using the word "like to hunt". I hope I kept this narrow enough to discuss.

I was absolutely shocked by the statement. The narrow minded stereotyping that formulated that statement was astounding.The elitist tone really reminds meof a socialistspeech.

To me, it sounds like he is the bitter one. Apparently, he doesn't appreciate voters strongly favoring certain positions that he is weak on. I am positive many americans are voting soley on the issue of the Iraq war (to withdraw) and I doubt Obama has a problem with that.



I am not sure why some people declare some positions valid or not. Personally, if you want to vote for Obama based on the fact he likes pizza..... so what?

He also said that they would vote guns and religion over economics. So in his eyes it's an either/or, he won't represent both (and possibly not either).

Also accused them of being "wrapped in ideology." He once stated that he say no reason for people to carry guns. So given the facts about conceal carry and lowered crime rates, his holding this anti-gun position is being "wrapped in ideology," isn't it?

This might sound terrible to some people, but if Hillary or Obama are selected, there will probably be a conservative running in 4 years. If McCain gets in, we are guaranteed to have two liberals from which to choose from. I am not saying that I am definately going to throw the lever for the Democrat, but either way, I will be holding my nose.

My biggest fear is that the next pres will likely select two SC judges....and they stay for life!!!!

Although Ric in Richmond has a great point about the judges.

If Obama gets the nomination, I wouldn't be surprised to see him appoint Bloomberg.

Would you mind pointing out where Mr. Obama has stated that he is in favor of Islam? I can't say that I agree with all of his politics, but this fearmongering crap trying to convince people the man is a terrroist is wearing a bit thin. Yes, his middle name is Hussein. That means absolutly jack squat.

Wow.

Very interesting comment.. So we have an antipathy to anyone who is not like us? If one chooses not be believe in God and chooses to not carry or own firearms, I do not dislike them even though I may disagree with those decisions. As long as someone doesn't attempt to restrict or eliminate my right to choose differently, there will be no problem. Gun grabbers like Obama will obviously never understand where our frustrations derive. We don't "explain our frustrations" by clinging to various negative sentiments, at least I don't. We are frustrated because the constitution is in jeopardy if the likes of him are ever elected into office.

Any commentary from him trying to define the religious groupsor thegun culture is a purposely failed attempt to understand the true meaning of our roots and ourhistory. My belief in God and my belief in my constitutional heritage to carry and own firearms has absolutely nothing to do with any job I have had or any specificeconomic status me or my family has ever had. It is merley principledupbringing,an understanding of the constitution, a sporting heritage,a duty to protect myself, my family, my state, and my country,a concern about the history of disarmament in the 20th century, and a further concernthat a hurricane katrina confiscationmay happen at any time with anObama at the helm and that potential aftermath that would ensue.

I justhope Ilive long enough to see a president that actually abides by their oath of office and preserves and protects the constitution instead of trying to find various ways to violate it.
