I think we here would beg to differ that it is relevant, especially when a politician claims to be something they are not. Where is The Donkey ? I need this situation explained to me.

Clinton: 'Not relevant' last time I went to church, firedgun
Posted: 05:00 PM ET
SCRANTON, Pennsylvania (CNN)
After a weekend spent making direct appeals to gun owners and church goers, Hillary Clinton said Sunday a query about the last time she fired a gun or attended church services "is not a relevant question in this debate” over Barack Obama’s recent comments on small town Americans.

“We can answer that some other time,” Clinton said at a press conference held in a working class neighborhood here. “This is about what people feel is being said about them. I went to church on Easter. I mean, so?”
Clinton described the furor surrounding Obama’s remarks as “about how people look at the Democratic Party and the Democratic Party leadership.”

“We have been working very hard to make it clear that we have millions of Democrats who are church going and gun-owning,” she said. “And we are tired of having Republicans, or frankly our own Democrats, give any ammunition to Republicans because what happens then is Republicans take advantage of the situation.”

She called the current imbroglio “an important moment for Democrats” and challenged Obama to further explain what he meant by his comments, which she reiterated were “elitist and divisive.”
Pressed on whether she truly believes Obama is an elitist, Clinton called him “a good man,” but recalled the narratives of the 2000 and 2004 president election.
“You don’t have to think back too far to remember that good men running for president were viewed as being elitist and out of touch with the values and lives of millions of Americans,” she said.

CLINTON KEEPS SPOTLIGHT ON OBAMA

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/04/14/888068.aspx

“He was explaining to a small group of his donors what people who live in small towns right here in Pennsylvania are like and why some of you aren't voting for him,” she said. “But instead of looking at himself, he blamed them. He said that they cling to religion and guns and dislike people who are different from them. Well, I don't believe that. I believe that people don't cling to religion; they value their faith. You don't cling to guns, you enjoy hunting or collecting or sport shooting. I don't think he really gets it that people are looking for a president who stands up for you and not looks down on you."

I find it hilarious when she tries to somehow separate herself from Obama. They're both elitist socialists. So......the Second Amendment is 'only' about hunting, collecting and sport shooting, eh?

This is one of the most demeaning things I feel when 'the left' talks about guns. I feel like they must believe I have the attention span of a poodle. When they are on the podium they equate guns with hunting. But when they discuss the second amendment in a courtroom all of a sudden it's all about the militia.

Then of course they go on trying to define "militia" like it was a brand new word which just fell from the sky. But here again, I know that "militia" has been defined in the US Code as all able bodied males between the ages of 18 and 45 (and up to 60 for military veterans).

The only difference between them is their gender. And that's assuming that Hillary acually is a female. :)

Translation: When we say stupid stuff and support marxist economic and social programs, support open borders, denigrate our military servicemen and women, and call small town Americans xenophobic, religious nut-case gun owners, the conservatives in this country quote us in print and speeches, play audio and video of our stupidity on the airwaves and generally make fun of us for being a bunch of elitist, out of touch, social marxist, economic fascists which we are, but they shouldn't be able to point that out to the stupid voters!!! WWaaahhh.

The papers are reporting that they will not be able to avoid the issue in the PA debate.

"Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are gingerly threading their way between two of the most politically charged numbers in Pennsylvania: the state's almost 1 million licensed hunters and Philadelphia's nearly one-a-day rate of gun murders. "

I like that quote. I guess what it really means is that the gun control issues divides two large groups of Pennsylvania voters. If the candidates go pro-gun, they might the votes of hunters and liberty-minded individuals, and if they go pro-gun-control, they'll be getting the votes of gang members and other career criminals. Fortunately, outside of Philadelphia the former group is larger.

Or that Obama is actually a male who has not been clipped.
