As the gas prices are getting crazy, I am thinking on riding the train to work. Is there any restrictions to concealed carry on train? Besides thoughtfully making sure it is not in plain view.

Just Found this on their Site.

1097.11 Firearms or other weapons

No person, except for those licensed to do so and in immediate possession of such license, shall bring into or carry in a terminal, station or train firearms or other weapons.

You didn't indicate if you were traveling on the traininto New York state while you would be carrying concealed. If so, you must have a New York permit to carry in that state.

According to the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association website (http://www.nysrpa.org/nygunlaws.htm):
"No person may carry, possess or transport a handgun in or through the state unless he has a valid New York license. New York does not issue licenses to non-residents nor does it recognize licenses issued by other states. (A provision of federal law provides a defense to state or local laws which would prohibit the passage of persons with firearms in interstate travel. If a person is traveling from any place where he may lawfully possess and transport a firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and transport such firearm and the firearm is unloaded and in the trunk. In vehicles without a trunk, the unloaded firearm shall be in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console. Necessary stops, e.g., gasoline and rest, seem permissible.)"

This doesn't answer the question about carrying concealed ON the train in CTthough. It appears the previous post indicates it may or may not be illegal to do so long as your in a state where your licensed to carry. Also on the MTA website is the text of a "MTA Spreads Word on New Gun Law" pod cast: http://transittrax.mta.info/audio/ttx_transcpts/MTASpreadsWordonNewGunLaw.htm

Kinda unrelated to the stated topic, but Charter Communications has a sign posted that they are Firearms Free. I pack anyway since I'm there giving them money as a customer. Throw me out and I'll simply throw them out for a sattalite dish.
