CZ 83 vs Stoeger Couger

Hey I am a security officer and I currently carry a Beretta Model 96 or a Sig Sauer 226 .40S&Wor Ruger P94 9mm. I am looking to get a backup pistol to carry on my ankle. I was wondering which of the two is better? A CZ 83 or a Stoeger Couger? And if you think I am better off with a Couger what do you think of me wairing it on my ankle? Do you think it would be too heavy and bulge out of my pant leg too much? Especially if I go for the .40S&W version. And speaking of ankle holsters do you guys think they are ok to use as far as not weighing the leg down too much and do they flop around too much if you were to run like if you were chasing someone?:?Andif ankle holsters are ok. Do you guys think that one of those Uncle Mike's ankle holsters are ok? I just thought maybe I would go with one of those since it has the calf strap for more support from coming loose. And if you don't think that is a good one then what do you recommend. Apprciate your thoughts.:)

The CZ 82 or 83 is too heavy for an ankle holster. Bersa Thunder in .380 would, IMO, be a better choice. I have a CZ 82 in 9mm Makarov, which is a great little gun, but too big and heavy to be a hideout as the Bersa would be.

As much as I like my vz82, itand the CZ83 are too heavy for ankle carry. I admit to not being familiar with the Stoeger. I've had bad luck with the Bersa however my recommendation is to find a back up weapon in the same caliber as your primary - perhaps the CZ-RAMI.

I am notaware of a compact version of the stoeger cougar, so if there is one, disregard my comment.

The Cougar is argueably a full size pistol and would not work well for ankle carry. It would be far too heavy and large. It would make a great primary pistol, but not a good ankle.

I work at a desk, and ankle carry would make sense, but since you are in the kind of business where you might be chasing someone, you may want to reconsider ankle carry, or at least get a lighter gun. Otherwise, you're going to either have a hard time running, or you're going to lose the gun while running.

If I were to suggest a good ankle gun, I would point you in the direction of either a small frame revolver or a keltec, but since you seem to want a decent amount of firepower, I would recommend one of the taurus compact pistols in 9mm, 40, or 45. They have a pretty decent capacity, and they seem to be good sellers, but I don't have any experience with them.
