Don't take it too hard.

This sort of thing is bound to happen.

Just calmly think up your reply for the next time somebody offersthis shootingas a reason deny self-defense to college students.

Students hurt and kill each other occasionally without firearms, too.

There is no reason thousands of students should be unable to protect themselves just because a very small thimble-full mis-use firearms.

It would be like erasing freedom of the press because communists print manifesto's. Heh, heh, heh. If you're sharp, you could spot the political leaning of your antagonist and insert the appropriate counter-personality: ...erasing freedom of the press just because Rush Limbaugh is an idiot. Or, ...erasing freedom of the press just because Michael Moore is an idiot.

What's the count within the last 18 months? 55 dead or wounded at VA Tech? What was the count at the other university? Got a long way to go before the damage by idiots and so forth out-weighs the carnage that could be prevented.

Horry County police charged Frasco in the shooting that sent20 year old Aaron Harperto a trauma center andFrasco to jail.

Frasco is a Coastal Carolina University student and originally from Toms River, New Jersey, according to his attorney, Michael Wells .
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Saturday at 1744 Juniper Drive, near the Highway 501 and Highway 544 intersection.
Horry County police lieutenant, Jay Brantley, said Frasco shot Harper in the shoulder with a shotgun.
Harper is an Horry-Georgetown Technical college student, according to authorities.
Harper remains hospitalized at MUSC in stable condition, according to Wells.
"Initial indications are they were inside playing with guns, didn't know the gun was loaded; racked a round into the chamber, pulled the trigger and it went off," Horry County police lieutenant Jay Brantley told News13 at the scene Saturday night.
Investigators said four people were inside the home when the shooting happened and that witnesses told investigators that all four, including Harper and Frasco, spent the afternoon drinking and partying.
Brantley said witnesses told police that Harper grabbed a shotgun and started waving it around and pointing it at the people inside.
Brantley said Frasco grabbed another shotgun and pointed it at Harper, then shot him in the right shoulder.
Brantley said Frasco told investigators he thought the gun was unloaded and the shooting was an accident.
Horry County police's crime scene unit continued processing the scene past midnight Saturday.

Brantley said neither Harper nor Frasco lived at the Juniper Drive address.
Medics took Harper to Conway Medical Center, then flew him to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for treatment.
County policebooked Frasco into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center just after eleven Saturday night.
As of this posting, Frasco remained jailed under bond.
