- 9mm Para. cal., alloy frame, this model was unmarked up to ser. no. approx. 2,600, early guns had a short safety lever, checkered walnut grips, blue or nickel finish. Mfg. started 1954.

MODEL 39 ALLOY FRAME EARLY MFG. (PRE-39)
- short safety, first group of 298 were produced for military inspection, various markings include "Quantico, VA", approx. ser. no. range 1,001-2,600. Mfg. 1954-55.

MODEL 39-2 ALLOY FRAME (LATER PRODUCTION)
- 7.65mm (.30 Luger) or 9mm Para. cal., double action, 8 shot mag., 4 in. barrel, checkered walnut grips, adj. sight, alloy frame, approx. 1971, the 39-2 was introduced as an improved version. Mfg. 1970-82.
