I'm curious about this, too - did he get his gun back, and if so, what was said when he did?
Has anyone communicated further with the Commonwealth Attorney's office?
Has anyone filed FOIA requests (I am guessing they have) to get all relevant information/reports held by the police?
Has anyone filed Internal Affairs complaints?
Rich did not yet get his gun back.
As far as I know, no suits or other actions or complaits have yet been filed, but "to my knowledge" doesn't really mean too much... Mike did request a copy of the original 911 call from Old Country Buffet as a good faith effort from the city council, though I suspect a formal request will be filed when they do not comply.
Now that I've slept it over, I'm incredibly more upset with the response at this meeting. Granted, like I said, there were a few townfolk who were supportive of us, and even if they didn't like what we did, ackowledged that it was our right to do it, or at the
least realized that the police acted out of line. However, the
vast majority of townfolk had
no problem with the police misconduct, and essentially gave them a free pass on violating peoples' rights in order to ensure that no one felt "uneasy". We got booed whenever we mentioned "police misconduct" or anything of the like. One waste of oxygen went so far as to say that if people OCed into the retail store that she managed, she would call the police and expect them to detain the OCers and run the serial numbers on their guns.

If I were less of a human being, I would hope that if a natural or man-made disaster were ever to hit Dickson City, the police would crackdown on the residents in the manner of the New Orleans PD. Then, maybe, when the police are breaking down the doors of elderly people and ordering them at gunpoint to leave,
maybe the residents of the town would realize that police misconduct
is not right.
