GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -- National park rangers, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and deputies from Coconino County are searching inside the Grand Canyon National Park for two carjacking suspects.
The National Park Service says a man called the Grand Canyon's emergency dispatch center Monday evening to report that he and a passenger had been carjacked on the South Rim.
He stated that two men had taken his vehicle at gunpoint and headed west toward Grand Canyon Village.
The men matched witness descriptions of two men who had left the scene of a vehicle accident earlier near Twin Overlooks.
The stolen vehicle is a 2008 white Dodge Caliber four-door hatchback, bearing Arizona license plate 606-RFC.
