Basically, as a resident of Georgia you need a GFL-Georgia Firearms License- to carry a pistol/revolver on your person, outside of your own property. This is for OC or CC - there is no difference. That said, the Utah license conforms to the Georgia requirement requiring that anyone carryinga revolver/pistol have in their possession a license. Not like Virginia, where OC with no license is acceptible and a CHP is reqiured for CC. Totally different concept. You may want to check out my friends at the GCO site, as well as Georgia Packing. Lots of good Georgia specific info. Also, the newest bill (HB89) signed by Gov. Perdue, opens up a number of areas where the Georgia folks can now carry. However, like the old Dominion, this law goes into effect on July 1, 2008. So, for now, no carrying on public transportation or in restaurants that serve alcohol.

marine2000,

Are you active duty military? If so, you have the same exemption as police officers in GA.
