    BOSTON —
Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor. Doctors for the Massachusetts Democrat say tests conducted after Kennedy suffered a seizure this weekend show a tumor in his left parietal lobe. Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma, they said.

His treatment will be decided after more tests but the usual course includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy.

The 76-year-old senator has been hospitalized in Boston since Saturday, when he was airlifted from Cape Cod after a seizure at his home.

His wife and children have been with him each day but have made no public statements.

His doctors said in a statement released to The Associated Press that he has had no further seizures, is in good spirits and is resting comfortably.

Malignant gliomas are a type of brain cancer diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year - and the most common type among adults. It's a starting diagnosis: How well patients fare depends on what specific tumor type is determined by further testing.

Average survival can range from less than a year for very advanced and aggressive types - such as glioblastomas - or to about five years for different types that are slower growing.

Ihave faith in God's justice and trust thatGod will return to him all the mercy he has given to others. Time to reap what he has sown.

Agreed. Having seen first hand the devasting effect this kind of malady can be on the patient and the family, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I'm glad to see him apparently out of the Senate, but NOT this way.

However, Ted has done considerable damage to the Constitution pushing his Socialist agenda and likewise scoffed at the rule of law (Chappaquiddick). Many of us were around when that happened and won't soon forget.

Much kinder way to word it than I could so I will just agree.

You might feel differently if you were Mary Jo's father.

Even if he is not able to continue his position, it won't matter much anyway. The Governor will appoint a major lib on his scale to replace him.

I would and more. I'll explain.

Of course I don't know Ted Kennedy so I cannot comment from a personal stance. However, his political record, his integrity, and his character do leave much to be desired. That and the fact that he is more than willing to violate his oath to defend the Constitution. So I view him as a pathetic person, not worthy of my respect or consideration.

As for "wouldn't wish this on anyone...", that is another issue. Were someone to kill a friend or loved one, I would pray for their agonizingly painful and prolonged death. While this may seem cruel to some, from my perspective, I would question anyone's sanity who didn't feel this way if they were so wronged.

    Someone commented to me today:

"I heard on the radio that Ted Kennedy has a brain tumor. I thought, well that certainly explains a lot."

Update on a topic already posted here. If it can be done with DC v. Heller, it can be done with a less relevant topic...

Anyhow, I guess this can be seen as nature's way of trying, convicting, and punishing a politician for treason. Since the government won't do it...
