Kindof a Forum game on naming what movies would have been shorter if someone (anyone) had been carrying.

to get it Started I'll name 2.

Panic Room (movie would have only lasted 10 minutes)
Harry Potter (I doubt a Wizard could cast a shield spell faster than a bullet could close the gap)

    Have Fun

    My Cousin Vinny.

If the clerk had been carrying, there wouldn't have been a movie.
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

I don't think a game where you try to end a movie faster by introducing a gunman really works with a movie that is nothing but gunmen already shooting at eachother :P

For the most part I don't watch that kind of movie, but a few do come to mind...

    A series of unfortunate events.

Shindler's List (if EVERYONE was carrying)

    Any Scream movie

The complete and utter truth can be challenged from every direction and it will always hold up. Accordingly there are few greater displays of illegitimacy than to attempt to impede free thought and communication.

    Texas Chainsaw Massacre:

Oh my God! He's running at me with a chainsaw that is fired up! :what:

That surely qualifies as a threat.....bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,bang..(had to kill the chainsaw too)..:celebrate

Mike Myers, the villian in the halloween movie series, wore an albino William Shatner mask. The Hockey mask was Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series.....

    but yeah, same rules apply

Heck, this is the ***** reason why all horror movies simply bore me. I never watch them because I know I'll just sit there thinking "A 45 would fix that. OK, maybe a 12 gauge just to be sure..."

    Batman.

Harriet the Spy. Little girl caps Rosie O'Donnell in the first scene and saves us ten years of loud anti-gunignorance.

I would say all horror movies fall into this category, can't think of one in particular right now.

More hunters could have made Bambi shorter. :?

    Curse that evil movie!

Oh no Bambi's mom got shot by a guy with a gun! Guns are bad and people who hunt are bad, because they killed bambi's mom!

I'm reminded of the Monty Python parody of The Sound of Music:

"the hills are alive... with the sound of... <rifle report, Julie Andrews character drops>".

There's a new creepy movie coming out. I think it's called The Strangers, or something. Basically, a home invasion movie. I do believe there was a gun in the house (based off of sketchy previews). I'm waiting for the reviews. Doesn't look like something I need to see. Lord, Peaches already thinks I'm paranoid. Hyper-vigilant is my preferred phrase.

There's one movie that just makes me mad every time I see it JUST because all that **** could've been avoided if he had had a gun.

    .....

    .....

but I forgot the name.... Help me out guys, it starred Kurt Russell. He and his wife are on a road trip in the desert, she gets kidnapped by a trucker yada yada yada...

    That's the one!

That movie woulda been thirty minutes long. And that's just because of opening dialogue.

    Duel

The 1971 made for TV movie staring Dennis Weaver.

It is the story of a frightened salesman going across the desert being terrorized by an un-seen deiver in a big rusty tanker truck.

Hmmm... With all these movies that would have been shorter, or no movie at all,had the chars been packing it occurs to me that if everyone in real life was packing the world might acually be a dull place!

Think about it, who would the whackos go after if there were no unarmed victims?
