NV or VT/AK style CCW?

CCW related, but ...

New poll at www.stillwaterfirearms.org/phpnuke/index.php

Nevada's current "shall issue" CCW permit system has been in place since 1995.

In Vermont (since statehood) and Alaska (since 2003), any law abiding citizen of the United States (not otherwise prohibited from possessing firearms) may carry concealed without a CCW permit. Alaska does have a "shall issue" permit system in place for those desiring a permit, or for reciprocity purposes.

Do you believe Nevada should keep it's current "shall issue" CCW permit system?

Or should Nevada adopt Vermont/Alaska style law?

Please vote in the website poll. Although not a scientific poll, the results will be interesting and perhaps useful.

Alaska style all the way.

Contact your state assemblymen and senators and tell them to support it too. Ask the different candidates in your district what they think of the idea and lets vote some people in for change.

On Friday and Saturday, I sent e-mails to Sharron Angle and Bill Raggio respectively (Senatorial District 3 Republican Candidates, Raggio is incumbent). On Friday I got a response from Sharron Angle, and she looks very promising.

That would be nice, although I doubt they would want to lose another tax stream.

Agreed. And it is, indeed, a tax on a Constitutional right - in my opinion.

That said, I do not see NV adopting VT/AK style law anytime soon. But the response has been interesting.

Standby - will have another poll soon. Probably on the subject of lawful CCW on Campus in NV - a subject that may very well come before our legislature in 2009.
