Anyone ever purchased firearms online?

Ever since I was introduced to guns and carrying four years ago, I have owned about a dozen firearms, including a Ruger P94, a Walther P22, a Llama Mini max, and various others, but never a Glock. I have always wanted one, but they have always been a bit out of my reach pricewise. That is, until last week. I stumbled onto Auctionarms.com and found several sellers selling Glocks at bargain prices. I landed mine for $389. For that price, I figured that there would probably be some wear and scratches on the slide and frame, and that the inner parts would probably have a little rust. Nothing that couldn't be taken care of by a gunsmith, however. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up my Glock 22 today and there was nary a scratch, ding, or bit of rust anywhere to be found! I can't wait to take this puppy to the range and start carrying it at work (I'm a security officer)! I am ecstatic. Any of you have equally positive experiences buying firearms online?

P.S. What sucks is that, due to the timing of the purchase, I'll have to wait another couple of weeks before I can carry it, because I am now saving up for the rent. You can bet your last dollar, however, that after the rent is paid, I'll be going back to the gun store and purchasing a duty holster and a couple of concealed carry holsters for it. I can't wait!

Very nice, I'm glad to hear you're satisfied with your purchase. It sounds like you got a pretty good deal there. I got a barely used 3rd gen Glock 17 with night sights at a local gun store for a bit over $400 IIRC, so you certainly didn't get a bad deal.

Although some folks who don't bother to even read posts or look at evidence (Or even try the thing) will tell you it doesn't make any difference, consider snagging a DPM mechanical recoil reduction system for your new Glock. The system consists of a stainless steel guide rod and a dual recoil spring setup. It made an unbelievable difference on my Glock 17, it's the best $70 I ever spent on an accessory. I honestly wouldn't own a handgun for which the system is made without it now. Don't worry about the haters who don't even read posts btw, tighter double tap concentration wont make you less of a man. :p

Bought a NIB Sig p226r 9mm, w/night sight and 2 factory 15 round mags.

Online for $589.00 shipped. Add in $15 FFL transfer fee + tax. Total cost = $605.30

Not too cost effective to buy online unless you can't get it locally. I have found that oft times, the shipping and FFL fees eat you alive!

Not always though. Sometimes you find bargains (see my above post). Saved almost 300 dollars vs buying local. (580 online, 860 cheapest local). Yeah, I had to pay a couple bucks shipping and a 15 dollar ffl fee. But still a LOT cheaper.

You can find yourself some good buys on gunbroker.com

I think it depends on what your options are locally. Here in VT we don't have a whole lot of options as far as FFLs. I bought an AR recently from a private seller on DefensiveCarry and likely saved $100 on the accessories and mods alone. Very reasonable transfer fees at the FFL up in Waterbury.

Glad you got a deal but I tell you I was sweating till I got the call that it had arrived at my FFL. Sending several hundred dollars to someone you don't know over the internet is not my idea of a good time. Until the gun arrives...

Good luch with any future purchases, gents, online or otherwise.

I've used gunbroker.com and made purchases from folks on forums I belong to. Never had any problems.

Pretty much everything I've bought online is stuff I'd never find locally. But then I'm not interested in Glocks and other vanilla stuff, I like the unusual. In addition, much of what I've acquired is C&R eligible, so I don't have to run transfers through someone else on those.

Just bought an M11 9mm and a Boweres CAC can on a form 3 in AZ over the net. I am waiting for the Form3 transfer to my FFL/SOT.

Talk about getting murdered on fees...$200 to the FFL/SOT for the transfer and $400 to the ATF for the NFA tax :cuss:

And I STILL have to wait for who knows how long for the Form 4 transfer to me :banghead:

(my last NFA buy took 5 months to get approved).

Lets see....

2 Ruger Blackhawk .30 carbine
2 Ithica 37 12 ga
1 Colt 1911 (mfg date of..... 1943)
1 Thompson 1927 A1 replica
1 M1 Carbine
plus a few .22's for plinking

It is just like going to a gun show without paying $10 for parking, $7 to get in, $25 in fuel to get there and back

My FFL charges $20 per transfer with CHL and $30 if you don't have one

You got anice pistol at a good price. I've bought and sold a lot of firearms online. Most of the time I like to work it out so that the FFL cost won't eat the savings up.

I just bought an M1 Garand two weeks ago... at a gun show :D Amazing gun. Absolutely wonderful. Very accurate, and very smooth.
Not many gun shows in the Soviet Socialist Republik of Kansas.

OT:

What make is it and how much did it put you back?
