Not that I like Obama or anything, but he *might* have been referring to the wounded, still doesn't make much sense, but you know.... Maybe he saw an amputee in uniform and figured it happened in combat? :p
Here I'm assuming he simply thinks of the fallen as being veterans, but again I'm probably giving him too much credit.

Bless you My Son.

The truly pure of heart, see only good, even where where no others can.

All I am going to say is that if ANY republican past or present had made any of these blunders, he would never hear the end of It.

Obama's record speaks for its self. We don't need to worry about these little blunders and the more we do the more we look like democrats.

If this insignificant mistake is all that we have on Obama, then we might as well pack up and go home.

How bout the fact that he's a socialist, gun-grabbing elitist? That seems more than enough for me.
I'm with you there, but it seems the newest trend is to ignore the issues and pick on Obama for stupid piddly crap. You're right that we need to focus on the issues, and if we do...oh nevermind it doesn't matter. Either way the next POTUS is going to suck.

Two reasons not to go near Obama.

A. He is a Marxist / Socialist

B. The Supreme Court of the United States. He would, no doubt in my being, bring to SCOTUS, leftist - activist judges. All we need is another Ginsburg.

Cut him some slack, maybe hes just another product of American public education. Hell, if I wanted to know any details of WWII, WWI or even the Civil War I had to go read them myself. My class was only focused on the social effects that war had on the country and other such socialist crap. The American military heroes were never mentioned. The most we learned about the military units was about the first women pilots and integrated infantries.

And this was in an Advanced Placement HS course for college credit.

deepdiver, AK is the abbreviation for Alaska, AR is Arkansas.

OK, now for the fact that NEEDS to be noticed; Obama is from Chicago, the most corrupt political machine in the country, if not the known world. That is the most important thing anyone should know about Obama, But yes, he does play fast and loose with the facts, just like Hiltlery and

every OTHER POLITICIAN anywhere, anytime, all the time. It is past time to clean up the snakepit we call Washington D.C. Politicians DO NOT have your best interests at heart, just POWER, AS MUCH AS THEY CAN GRAB and that is the bottom line. To them, we are just a commodity, a resource, to be used until you are used up, and then discarded like yesterdays trash. Born Free, taxed into servitude. Civics lesson over, return to your regularly scheduled programming now.

No problem, it did kinda foul up your geography point. Just remember the way politics work in Chicago; "Vote Today, Vote Democrat and Vote Often!" Hey, even the dead vote in Chicago. Sheesh, how much more corrupt can a place get?!?!?

And yet another one. From Obama's own web page:
IRAN:
Diplomacy:
Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations. If Iran continues its troubling behavior, we will step up our economic pressure and political isolation. Seeking this kind of comprehensive settlement with Iran is our best way to make progress.

From the WSJ:
Mr. Ahmadinejad is talking about changing the destiny of mankind, while Mr. Obama and his foreign policy experts offer spare parts for Boeings or membership in the World Trade Organization. Perhaps Mr. Obama is unaware that one of Mr. Ahmadinejad's first acts was to freeze Tehran's efforts for securing WTO membership because he regards the outfit as "a nest of conspiracies by Zionists and Americans."

Obama doesn't get it. He doesn't get it to a greater degree than our other "leaders" don't get it. He is not prepared or ready to lead on numerous levels.

Barack Obama has called for the "special relationship" between the US and Britain to be "recalibrated" to make it a fairer, more equal partnership, the Guardian has learned.

Senator Obama, who leads the race to be the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, made the remarks in a telephone address to a fundraising event attended by American expatriates in London.

He has long been seen by British officials as the most anglophile of the three remaining presidential candidates, but these latest comments are his first public suggestion that the relationship is unequal and ripe for change.

"We have a chance to recalibrate the relationship and for the United Kingdom to work with America as a full partner," Obama told more than 200 American expatriates gathered at the Notting Hill home of Elisabeth Murdoch, the head of Shine television production company and daughter of the media tycoon Rupert Murdoch.

"It's no longer going to be that we are in the lead and everyone follows us. Full partners not only listen to each other, they also occasionally follow each other," the adviser said.

I'd be pretty damn surprised. So far I havn't seen anything in his ancestry pointing in that direction. That's something that would most definitly be reported on (as though it would affect his ability to be president).

FogRider, I think the comment was tongue in cheek referring to the nature of Obama's political beliefs.

Just got back from London. The U.K. sure does need some recalibrating. Crime cameras everywhere, but still a terrible problem there. Only criminals have guns. Not a safe place.
