Hey everyone! I was just curious if anyone had or has the galco royal guard inside the pants holster?

I am having trouble finding something comfortable because of my size and everyone keeps recommending this one... I carry a springfield 5" 1911...

    any insight would be great!!

    thanks!!

Why carry IWB if your going to OC?
A OWB would be more comfortable.
The GRG is a nice holster and it should work finedepending on where you position it.

If you think like a Statist, act like one, or back some, you've given up on freedom and have gone over to the dark side.
The easiest ex. but probably the most difficult to grasp for gun owners is that fool permission slip so many of you have, especially if you show it off with pride. You should recognize it as an embarrassment, an infringement, a travesty and an affront to a free person.

Are you going to be CCing or OCing? I would recommend the inside the pants holster only if you're going to be CCing. As for OC, you should definitely get an OWB holster. Options abound, with leather being the most popular one.

I thinks you are going to want a IWB for CC and OWB for OC (enough letters?).

The CompTac MTAC is a great IWB holster IMO (keeping the letters going).

It has a leather back for comfort against you, and a kydex holster on the outside part. Fully adjustable clips to you can adjust how high or low it sits in comparison with your belt as well as the angle of the draw.

Extra convenience: The kydex part can be interchanged with others so that you can use it for all your sidearms...

Davin, I carry a full size 1911 90% of the time. I use a Milt Sparks VMII http://miltsparks.com/

It is the most comfortable IWB I have ever owned. I am 6'2" 240lbs, so I'm not a small guy either. I also have the Desantis SOB holster http://www.desantisholster.com/067.html

Great holster, most comfortable OWB I own. It has an adjustable tension screw that controls the speed of your draw.

Ended up being my 2cd choice but heardA LOT of good things about the VMII from a lot of people.

For me, in the end, the long wait for manufacturing time (up to 26 weeks in some cases), and the higher price just didn't put it far enough in front of the MTAC...

Check here for a great review of the MTAC, Milt, and custom leather IWB holsters:

I got mine from Yoast guns. Mr. Yoast is one of three Sparks Dealers and has a few on hand. You can find his link on the Sparks site. YOu end up paying $25 more, but you don't wait.
