Not regarding hollow point v. round - lead ammo has some new restrictions that you should be aware of however.

To my knowledge, the only banned ammo is anything designed to penetrate armor. Now, that defenition is about as broad as the AW ban's "and anything like model x rifle" (which we all know didn't hold up in court).

I'll leave it up to someone in the know to explain the new lead ammo law, which to my understanding only affects hunters.

Aren't there some restrictions on the former Black Talon-types of ammo? Maybe they were local restrictions or only against purchase by non-LEO?

The only ammo restriction is for handguns. You cannot have ammo specifically designed to defeat body armor.

Rifle AP ammo is legal (regular rifle ammo will defeat any soft vest anyway)

The police use hollowpoints, so should you.
