Olive garden is owned by Darden Restaurants. They do have a no weapon policy.

I have openly carried in the Olive Garden and Red Lobster in Provo, Utah several times, without incident

Believe me, it is NOT Italian food...only Italian styled food. I've been to Italy many, many times and believe me, it's nothing like it.

My wife loves Olive Garden, I think their food is garbage.

I completely disagree. I love their mixed grill and their breadsticks with the Pasta e Fagioli is golden and cheap. Plus, they have my favorite desert: White chocolate raspberry cheesecake.

That being said, due to the evidence put forth by SGT Jensen, I'll add them to the list. I'd like to point out that what the OP did does not constitute placing Olive Garden on the list, as described in the rules for placing businesses on the list: http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum55/3630.html
You need to see a written policy, as a manager can have an agenda and simply declare the business "no guns" or "no weapons" without regard for corporate policy and we don't want to punish all stores for the malice of one manager.

And, no offense twest17, but I always find it hard to add a business on the account of a new member, especially since any 'joe' off the street with a computer can register here. Without evidence, such as a link to a policy or a picture of an anti-gun sign, I will rarely if ever add a business on merely the account of a new member. Is this discriminatory? You bet. Is it fair? I think so. On the internet and on forums like this, you have to earn respect and trust before it can be given.

I have OC'd in both Tacoma & Federal Way without issue and on many occasions. I happen to know someone in management and will get a written answer on this.

just_a_car- no offense taken, I was unaware of the guidelines for adding a business to the DNP list, but will be sure to view a written policy from the business if this occurs again.
M1Gunr- looking forward to what you find out

That's strange. I've OC'd in restaurants so many times I can't begin to estimate the number.

Not once has anyone left because of my handgun. Not even one person, much less "many customers."

I think she was embellishing--shoveling it on with a front-end loader.
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

Haha I will second that, growing up in a family that immigrated here from Sicily I can say it is definately not Italian food.

Most of the time I've been there 70% of the guests are over 65 or so that's usually a good sign of bland, won't hurt your stomach food. Kinda like a cafeteria in a hospital. And they get away with slow service since those guest are all retired and don't care.

I'll be happy to take them off my list!

Odd, after the last two times I ate there (in like the lasttwo years) I became sick after both meals...

Correct you are. They don't much care for Italians or Norwegians, which I am 1/4 of. Boy did Nonna not care for my mom because she was, as she said, "not Italiano and you're not Catholica!!!"

So we order our food and about half way through our meal I see the manager return with two police officers behind her walking straight towards our table. The officers don't say a word and just stand there. The manager states that she called the police because she does not feel comfortable talking to me and says that many customers are leaving because of my firearm. She then asks me to put the gun in my car. I respond that if my firearm is not allowed in than I will leave. So me and my girlfriend walk out of the restaurant with two TPD officers behind us while everyone in the restaurant is watching.
I would also send a strongly worded letter to the parent corporation pointing out how embarassing it is to be escorted to the door by two police officers midway through your dinner when you were never asked to leave and company policy was not stated to you by the management. That is ridiculous customer service and I certainly won't ever be back to OG.

Dang that sucks royally. I would contact Olive Garden corporate, complain about the embaressment, and point out it is pretty hard for you to know about a policy that is not posted or articulated to you.

Watch them send you some meaningless form letter and some free meal coupons. Throw the letter away and give the coupons to a homeless person.

    Yes,
Their website sucks for sending email. Good thing I have the actual contact info for the region.

I have OCed at the Olive Garden in Silverdale quite a few times and not one person has ever said a word to me about it.

I was unaware of the policy and it is DEFINITELY not posted any where on the premises.

Is someone currently working on this still?
