Does anybody know of any good tactical firearm courses in Michigan? I'm thinking I want to go through one. Not basic training, but clearing rooms, etc... I'd like to focus on handgun use, but anything else would be useful too...

I don't know, this thought just came to me, and it sounds interesting and useful, but I don't know of any places in Michigan, that's where you smart people come in.

Check out http://michigantrainer.com/

I took a combat handgun course from one of their instructors, through a special event sponsered by SAFR, an organization that I belong to, INSTEAD of MCGRO, which is, in the words of Rod Collins*, "a once great pro-2nd amendment organization."

*Rod Collins, former president of MCRGO (twice that I know of) and one of the founders of Great Lakes Shooting Sports Association.

Let me put it this way. It may be "basic" as fas as the instructor is concerned, but it teaches you quite a bit, that can be used to further your abilities with a firearm. If you check out the description, you should get an idea what it teaches.

Yea, it sounds like something I'm interested in. I mightregister for the August 2nd course.
That course sounds really good to me too! I can afford the class, but I think right now the ammo would break the bank. Maybe a fall class will come up!

All I can say is, I've taken training from Steve, and he is an excellent instructor. I have to warn you, he does not stand for any bullshit on the range. So, if you take his course, be sure you follow his instructions. If you have a question about anything, don't hesitate to ask him.

That's fine, I don't like to deal with crap when I take people to the range either.
