All this argument about"what the framers meant by the 2nd Amendment" spurred me to start looking. The best single-point source I found was http://www.gmu.edu/departments/economics/wew/quotes/arms.html

Were quotes like these used in Heller v. DC, or were they completely ignored so the judges could apply their own interpretations?

There used to be a thread somewhere on this board containing useful quotes like these, but I can't find it anymore. If it's still out there, it deserves a sticky.
