Just thought I would pass this along to anyone interested.

Just enter your address and see what kind of crimes are committed in your neighborhood. Kind of eye opening.

Yeah one thing I found is that you have to enter an address not just zoom in to an area from the map. It takes a few seconds for them to pop up. you also have to zoom in pretty close depending on the crime level. And yes it appears to be new and depends on the LE entering the crimes. Kansas city is on here and updated everyday.

Can't seem to get it working...

Edit:

I changed my search area and found it. Try looking at Washington, DC. It's VERY frightening. :what:

for those in Fairfax County, VA, click this link (http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps/myneighborhood/default.aspx?http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps/myneighborhood/mynpolice.aspx#police]http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps/myneighborhood/mynpolice.aspx#police]http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps/myneighborhood/default.aspx?http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/gisapps/myneighborhood/mynpolice.aspx#police[/url]), check the box marked "I have read and accepted the disclaimer above." and then click one of the links marked " Continue to The Application " below it after the page refreshes itself.

EDIT: The link I posted lookes messed up but I tried it and it works just fine...just click the part that is a hyperlink.

Also I wanted to add that I found out that there was an assault on my street within the month that I didn't know about, and also there was a burglary in a house that is in the court that is behind my house that I didn't know about that was earlier this year.

THIS is why I keep a gun ready to go at home and while in my truck.

Not to mention all the drug activity reported around the area....where there's drug activity there's a good chance of burglary and larceny from people who 'need' money.
