-Barack Obama last week talking about his new mandatory voluteer programs.

Can someone please explain 'mandatory volunteer'? To me this says 'you have to do it and it better be for free'

It doesn't matter what you see,
Or into it what you read,
You can do it your own way,
If it's done just how I say,

Independence limited,
Freedom of speech is words that they will bend,
Freedom no longer frees you...

"mandatory volunteer"
"voluntary taxes"
"limited government"
"rightful sovereign"
"ignorance is strength"
"war is peace"

politicians are detestable manipulators of men. if there be a hell, they will surely feel its flames.

this is going to turn America into Switzerland, which I might remind the more vulgar gun rights advocates here has a SLAVE (mandatory military service/conscription) based military. Like Korea and the former conscript policy of the United States (a shame to very American notions of individual liberty).

I am all about volunteer militias possessing arms equal and superior to the arms possessed by the states armies of 'public' mercenaries (soldiers), but as this author pointed out... this is NO militia. This is militarizing the entire population of the USA into the service of the state. It is making any such a force under the direct control of the state as opposed to being separate and potentially in opposition to it. This is collectivist ant-hill morality which feeds off the destruction of individual liberty, seeking to create the Marxist "new socialist man".

It's pretty typical of Obama's use of the language. As near as I can tell, what Obama really means when he says "mandatory volunteer work" is "optional, well-paid work". College students would be encouraged to volunteer 100 hours per year and in exchange they'd get a $4000 tax credit.

I don't know about you, but $40 per hour is something EVERY college student I know would jump at. On the other hand, I really, really doubt that most of the "volunteer" work they'd be paid by Uncle Sam to do would be worth anywhere near $40 per hour. Whatever it is that Obama wants these "volunteers" to do, he should just hire them for an hourly wage. It'd be cheaper and more effective.

Obama, the black Humpty Dumpty?

'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone,' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.'

There issomething about working for a tax credit that just blows every fuse and gasket I've got.

"Heh, heh, heh, little drone, work for us at what we want you to do, and we won't steal...cough...cough...we'll let you keep some of the money we were going to take when you were working for yourself."

The effrontery is just...I'm at a loss for words.

Barrak's Brownshirts will be the ones coming door to door, asking you to manditorily volunteer to give your firearms away. Thats how it's gonna get done. It's not going to be police or the US military. It will be your neighbors, friends, and maybe even yourfamily.

And not to be a spoiler, but we all know how this will end.

The first thing that concerns me is when I checked this guys campaign website is the fact they ask for your name and e-mail address "to invite you to rallys"...when I try to decline, the fields come back up as "required" information.

E-mail: Bitemein08@yahoo.com

name: Religious Gunowner

Then...they ask for money.

Here's what I found:

[*]Create a Civilian Assistance Corps (CAC): An Obama administration will set a goal of creating a national CAC of 25,000 personnel. This corps of civilian volunteers with special skill, sets (doctors, lawyers, engineers, city planners, agriculture specialists, police, etc.) would be organized to provide each federal agency with a pool of volunteer experts willing to deploy in times of need at home and abroad. (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/defense/)
Homeland Security Corps
to help communities plan, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
Participants will include full-time members who work with communities to help them plan and prepare
for emergency response as well as a cadre of volunteers who can be mobilized to help in a national
disaster. The Corps would draw on the experience of the National Civilian Community Corps, and work
in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As a U.S. senator, Obama
introduced legislation to create a national emergency health professional volunteer corps to ensure there
is a ready pool of volunteer doctors and nurses who are willing, trained, and certified to serve in times of
disaster. Obama’s planned Homeland Security Corps would build on that effort. (http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/NationalServicePlanFactSheet.pdf)

Here is the link to the article were he calls for this civilian national security force. WTH is he thinking? http://bulletin.aarp.org/states/il/articles/obama_outlines_plan_for_national_service.html
