"To me I think it gives kids the idea that guns are OK and I think that they're going to be desensitized," says Anji Robertson who was visiting from Madison, WI with her husband and three kids.

Meant as criticism, but a worthy goal of family oriented open carry events.
He wore his gun outside his pants for all the honest world to see. Pancho & Lefty

The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us....There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! ...The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, Sir, let it come …………. PATRICK HENRY speech 1776

She's from Wisconsin. What do you expect from a resident of a state that does not allow carry of any kind.

Wisconsin is an open carry state. They have complete state preemption for firearms laws. However, you may not openly carry a firearm in a vehicle.
ETA: We need more Madison folks to start OCing.

I was under the impression that Wisconsin was one of the states that had a ban on carrying of firearms altogether. I stand corrected and I thank you for it. I know there are 44 states thatdo notban open carry. Tx, Ok, S.C., Fl,and Il are 5 that do. Do you know which other one does?

Actually it's TX, OK, SC, FL, NY & AR (And D.C.). IL actually allows OC in rural areas.

Check out the home page, the map is hot linked and has lots of good info.

Some of the comments on the article were apalling. One individual kept insisting that OC is some kind of "macho" thing. Others were adamant that open carry was inviting violence and injury, and that it was just a matter of time until someone got killed because a gun "just went off". What utter nonsense...
