Hi, I'm new here but this looks like a very cool place.

Anyway,

I don't have a hunting permit and have only purchased several shotguns and rifles using the 2 week wait. I was wondering if you need a hunting permit to buy rifles at these shows, or is it just cash for guns?

I'm 18 so I can't buy any pistols, but I really have a thing for some of the older ww2 surplus rifles and I know the gun show will probably be the best bet. Thanks and happy shooting.

If you buy long guns from private sellers (non-FFL) it is treated as a regular private sale, and there is no waiting period and no background check or paperwork required. From FFL's, it will be like buying from a shop, with the waiting period, or hunter's license.
