Yeah there are a million videos of people handing someone a hand cannon. In one of them the girl almost blows her own head off with a .44 Magnum or .50 caliber revolver. It fires, recoils back (Past 90 degrees), fires again, I assume due to an involuntary contraction and as a result blows itself down out of her hands. I mean a bullet literally goes right in front of her face.

I've seen this one before. When first introducing my lady friend to guns (I didn't own one at the time, but my father in North Texas owns plenty), we started her off with the .22lr which she was afraid of at first, then grew to LOVE. We stepped her up to the m1 carbine and she wasn't so sure about that. Then Dear old Dad whips out the 44mag and stands behind her, holding the gun with her while she squeezes off a round.

She wouldn't shoot anything but the .22lr for the rest of the day.

    Holy crap are people stupid.

Guy with the 12 ga all decked out, looking like he knows what he is doing until he tries to shoot a pistol grip shotgun using the sights. I will admit it, I did something similar the very first time I shot/handled a 12 ga pistol grip and people with me who knew better didn't tell me differently because they thought it would be funny. I popped myself in the lip with my hand on recoil with a little hurt and no other injury. After that I decided to never shoot another firearm unless I am familiar with it and know what the heck I am doing with it. Then again, I wasn't trying to be cool or having someone video tape me to show off my coolness. I was just inexperienced and naive and trusted my friends.

Dumbass shooting himself in the eye with a paintball gun?? WTF was he thinking? If that had been a pellet/BB gun probably would have lost an eye and he may have anyway. Problem with youtube is that there are very rarely any followups to the situations. I would love to know how this turned out.

Drunk people shooting? Looked like everyone there was intoxicated. Stupid, stupid, stupid -- lucky nobody got seriously injured or killed.

Not stupid - Grandma! That could have been some of the older women in my family. Gotta love the spunkiness she has. Shoot him in the Toodles! HA!

In that first video. Just the anticipation of knowing what was going to happen was killing me:what:

I'm convinced it's moreso about method than caliber. Lock out an arm when firing, keep a solid grip on the gun with both hands, and IMHO there should be no guns flying backward.

And I've never had problems with shooting my Mossberg 500 Persuader with a pistol grip using the sights, though perhaps that was due to the vertical foreend that enabled me to get a better grip on it. And that was using 3" slugs as well...

I don't get what he thought his left hand was going to do where he put it. Seemed like a really bad idea to me.
