I love the fact that there are 773,000 votes, and 97% of them are yes... That should say something about the climate in the nation...

I'm curious as to why they even have the poll. Isn't that what Heller resolved? Granted the scope was limited, but the majority sure seemed to be sending that message.

Understand that Heller only resolved the court's stance on the question.

I vaguely recall a poll like that prior to Heller. I wonder if the poll pre-dates the decision?
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

If you look closely at the URL it looks like the poll is from November and was never closed.

Thank you for that embarrassing revelation.

Kind of a stupid poll. The SCOTUS already said the 2nddoes and there is nobody than can override that decision.

Actually the Heller ruling did not have any affect on State or local gun laws only gun laws passed by the Federal government such as Wa. DC.

It will take a further ruling by SCOTUS on a lawsuit against a local or state gun ban (Such as Chicago) to bring the Heller decision to the non-federal level. Just as in other civil rights decisions the courts initial ruling covered only Federal law untill other lawsuites made their way up to SCOTUS.

So we are not out of the woods yet. If Oboma is elected and gets to appoint more judges we may never get our 2nd Amendment rights except on the federal level. Which means the US Government can't ban guns, but California or Seattle can. Depending on how the next SCOTUS ruling goes in years to come. Remember 4 judges think you have no right to own a firearm.

Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?
It's a trick question. The correct answer is 'no'.

That's because it's an inherent right that was affirmed by the second amendment.

97% Wow. Can't get 97% of Americans to even agree on what color to paint the White House anymore.
