Holster Carry

I'm an active duty Marine moving to Oahu and surrendering my rights with the rest of you. Does anyone know offhand:

1. if I can carry an EMPTY holster around in protest?
2. if I can buy a mounted holster for my Harley and display it empty?
2. if I can call the police department every day and request a police escort without punishment?

I have family there, I'm sure they will send me the clips from the Honolulu Star Bulletin (I was at K-Bay for 3 years, and with Feds for 3 1/2 years)When you get arrested for terrorizing the public.

Hawaii is so Anti-Gun, and I married a local Chinese girl, it took her years to get used to me with guns....

The empty holster shouldn't be a problem. You may get questioned by LE, but otherwise if you're not carrying anyting illegal, you should be fine. This applies to both on your person and your Harley.

Calling the police for an escort may get you some unwanted attention from the police. I strongly suggest against it.

I carry an empty holster all the time since i OC at home and often have to run out. My serpa paddle holster can be a bitch to take out so i just dump the gun in the safe and trot off with the empty holster.

Sorry, If I'm lost here. I live in Alabama. Why can't you carry your firearm? What are the laws in Hawaii?

OMG! This is perfect! Alabama has the "no guns at public demonstrations" law and this would be great! A public demonstration with our holsters and every has a water bottle in it. Thanx for the idea!

The best thing AL OC members can do is create an event (blood drive, street clean-up, picnic, etc.) and carry their weapons. It is sure to bring the press and then you can talk down the other areas of the country where OC is not allowed. If you hold a demonstration in AL, you are not allowed to OC which means the press will make us seem like a bunch of fruitcakes. After all, an OCdemonstration without weapons is a pretty lame demonstration.

We need to practice OC as much as possible and get the entire state to work together on state-wide events on the same day. An OC picnic, in Mobile, Montgomery, B'ham, Huntsville, etc. all on the same day will get the word out to the press and the nation. Choose someone articulate enough to speak for the group to the press, dress neatly, and keep the Battle flags to a minimum. There is nothing the press loves more than to show pictures of what they consider "racist Southerners with guns" on TV. Be sure the spokesman has the information to give the press about the other events, where they are being held in the other cities, and who their spokesperson is so they can be interviewed, as well.

But, a state-wide event will get the national press to pick up on the story. That way we can get the coverage about OC. Please don't forget to record the event to post it on the web.

Didn't a group do this in the PRK (California) with bananas in holsters?


or in Texas a group of college students silently protested with empty holsters on campus and in classes. They had to fight it up through the courts before it was upheld as a 1A right to "freedom of expression"

I really liked this idea: from someone in Murderland (Maryland) with a copy of the US Constitution rolled up in a holster, then stamped on the outside "VOID IN MARYLAND" p.s. i think this might have been done in another New England area state.

Just don't put an adult toy in the holster, got a poor sap jacked up and harassed
in Vegas that way, and in NV they aren't illegal.

At least we all know where the anointed one got his gun rights ideas from.
As for me, until they can stop the volcanos from lighting up the pot plants

I've caught some flak on the Ky forum for it.. but here in Louisville, I OC an Original Series Star Trek phaser at a particular location that has a no firearms policy..

Hawaii is a "May-Issue" state, or as I like to say...a "May-Not_Issue" state. HPD hasn't issued a permit to a citizen for reasons not related to work since HRS-134 went into effect. MPD (Maui PD) has only issued 1, for 6 months.

Hawaii is considered to be one of the most restrictive states of the 50, to include registration.

This may all change very soon. McDonald was a huge victory for us. Time to start trying it out!!!!

hey Ty you back yet? We going Oahu 24th Aug. You bring your pistols? I am going to bring mine. They are already registered so I don't mind doing it again. And I am probably going to wear my holster empty in protest.
