    Roanoke Times:
Employee shot himself at Va. Tech, officials say

A Virginia Tech employee shot himself in a room off the Cassell Coliseum arena on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Tech police responded to the incident at 2:15 p.m., and the man was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, police Chief Wendell Flinchum said.

Officials declined to identify the man, and his condition is unknown.

Although officials said the shooting posed no threat to the campus community, Flinchum said police notified the public by e-mail using part of an alert system put in place after the April 16, 2007, shootings.

I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

Only in VA would a pompous, arrogant man like Steger and his clueless Police Chief Flinchum still remain employed after the debacle at VT.

This did not happen. There are signs, rules and policies forbidding this. Therefore, it did not happen. This is just a media ploy by the ultra conservative antigun control fanatics to smear the message of the gun control liberals.I guess that the liberals still do not get it that signs do not work. At least he only shot himself.

It is sad when anyone (non-criminal) takes their own life or tries to. The scars on the family can be quite severe.
