Question of general law. I apologize in advance because I know it's a repeat.

I am quite sure I read on here that if you are detained by police they are required to give you their name and badge number. I was wondering 1) if this would be addressed in the state laws, or the city ones, or if it was merely a regulation from the police department, and 2) whether anyone had a link for the regulations concerning this issue for the Orleans Parish PD.

Before someone tells me to go do a search, I have already pored over the LA revised statues for something concerning this issue and been unsuccessful in finding something that even addresses the subject of police duties towards someone they're questioning/arresting (Miranda rights and all that). I suspect I'm looking in the wrong place.
