Extremism in the Defense of Liberty is no Vice

A friend of mine sent me a link to this YouTube video of various Republicans remembering the 1964 convention when Nelson Rockefeller tried to make Goldwater's uncompromising stand an issue of extremism vs moderation.

Goldwater embraced the term with these immortal words: "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice. ... And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of Justice is no virtue."

If you really want to hear a remarkable speech at that convention, listen to Ronald Reagan's impromptu speech. Doesn't get any better than that.
