I know of only one indoor archery range, and it is in Humboldt, 15 miles away. But then I also only know of one indoor shooting range (High Noon), in Prescott Valley. Most people out here just go out in to the desert/forest and shoot. We do have a couple of outdoor/national forest shooting areas.

I know of 6 gun stores in just Prescott/Prescott Valley alone. That doesn't count Big-5 or other sporting good stores.

Yes, the Californicators are a substantial minority here. It does not help that the granola eating, non-showering longhairs of Prescott college are here, and there is also a large minority of birkenstock (sp) wearing, tofu eating, flea-infested, loosers.

Sonora: I'm glad you enjoyed your visit.

I love it whenever I go to Prescott, and you see the wet spot in the shortsof the tree hugging, sandal wearing, Commiepornia Transplants, form and grow large. I usually point and laugh derisively at their discomfort, hey, if they are gonna try to deny me Rights, I am at least gonna make them pee all over themselves for it and point it out too. I've been OC'ing around Prescott for 9 years now (ever since I turned 21) and I don't remember ever seeing anybody looking too upset about it. I've only had a few people ask me about it and only one of them was even slightly hostile.

The only time I've really gotten any funny looks while open carrying were during Frontier Days or the Shootout on Whiskey Row. I really felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb when everyone else was packing a Single Action Army and I had a plastic auto or a double action wheelgun.

As for the gunshop to archery range ratio, I don't know of any archery ranges in Prescott but we've got High Country Guns & Knives, Bill's Trading Post, The American Gunshop, and J&G Sales plus the pawn shops and big box stores.
