Hrm, since the form for both the CPL and the form to apply to purchase ask specifically if you are an illegal user of such things, I highly doubt if anyone here would attend.

Now, that doesn't mean that some of us, as supporters of freedom, also don't agree with the sentiment that as long as you're not harming anyone else, you can put whatever the hell you want into your body.

Last I checked one doesn't have to violate any laws in order to enjoy this kind of event. They can be a lot of fun.

Breaking down preconceptions is always a good thing, anyway.

Now they also celebrate the non illicit uses of hemp there. Of course the illicit use gets a lot of press... I'd like to find a nice pair of hemp jeans and a hemp shirt.

I have a really nice Hawaiian shirt made out of hemp. It was given to me as a gift. It's a great material, nice and sturdy.

Hemp is a gateway textile. Before you know it you'll be wearing organic cotton maybe even silk if you go hardcore.

Hey, it's OK if bear's vision is a little... poor. That just leaves more for the rest of us.

    Welp.

I was planning on going, and OCing.

Yesterday I slept in too late (got rear ended on Thursday, hit pretty hard, and my body is making me sleep to recover/heal).

Today, I just got up about 20 minutes ago. I turned up the shower to let it warm up, and I heard SPD screaming on Tac 3 that the event staff saw someone with a gun. The staff surrounded the person (if you think he's a threat... why?), and the police responded with the kind of fervor they usually only display when they think they are going to get to tase an 80 year old women.

Just now (literally, seconds ago), they let their dispatcher know that they informed the guy that the park was a gun-free zone today. It had been leased by the hempfest organizers and they had made the decision to ban firearms (riiiight, like the knuckle's policy had nothing to do with that) :regardless of permits or permits or whatever."

So apparently guns are banned at the park today, for hempfest, regardless of permits or whatever.

Sounds like the guy might be aruging the point with the police, as they are having the hempfest organizer come down to inform him of the rule and possibly trespass him. Might be good to have a printout of the hempfest website that says "hempfest is about human rights" on ya if you go.

Guess it's concealed carry for me...

Hemp is not an illegal substance, it contains no THC, which is what makes weed illegal.

It is never in an illegal form, it can be harvested just like any other crop.

Hemp is a very strong fiber, which makes excellent clothes, ropes, etc.

Being closely related to marijuana is it's only downfall, otherwise itd be everywhere, it really is an excellent fiber.

MD State troopers' hats are made from hemp (or at least used to be)

'fraid that's incorrect, but there is one politician tryin' to change it:
