Anyone a member of Metacon Gun Club in Simsbury? I am interested in membership and wondering what it costs.

My understanding is that there is a fairly high initiation fee and annual dues, but that that they do allow all calibers (pistol at least), the hours are pretty limited as far as early or late day. My knowledge on this is very secondhand, but I do not sense that acceptance for membership is "automatic".

Isn't there a waiting list for membership??

I thought I read that on their web site. I'd be interested in knowing more too

I think you need to be recommended and approved-sounds pretty "clubby", but it's supposed to be a pretty nice facility

How did you get in? What does it cost? Do you need to know someone? Is there a waiting list? It's pretty close to me,if it's affordable I'd be very interested in membership.

How did you get in? - Print out the membership application from the website (Application link at the top left) , fill it out and bring it to the next monthly meeting. Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the club and start at 7:30pm. On the application, it will ask for 2 sponsors. All you have to do is ask anyone with a white membership badge to sign it..they usually will.

Do you need to know someone? Nope, you just show up with an application (or fill one out at the meeting) and you're all set.

What does it cost? From the membership sheet on the website (Membership Link at the top left) Annual Dues: Regular Member $95.00 Annual Dues
Initiation fee $275.00 payable in full within 30 days from date of acceptance as a
probationary member

Sounds expensive but considering the Hartford Gun Club is like $540/year..its not bad.

Is there a waiting list? The club has a 750 max membership. I believe the current membership is at like 625 ish...so, no waiting list.
