I have never been stopped by a LEO.
Un-like some here, I do not go looking for confrontation.(not that it's a bad thing) If I need to go into a store to buy something I go in, get it, pay for it, and get out.
If I'm noticed, whom ever notices are left dumbfounded. "That guy had a gun"..... "He bought stuff and left without killing mass numbers of people"...."nothing happened"...."I'm gunna watch the news tonight to see where he went to kill people"
Then.... nothing! Smell what I'm stepping in?
I was stopped in Sportsman's Warehouse in Taylor 1 time. I was there to purchase 2 boxes each of 44mag and .38 spl.
After I found the .38's I had to ask where the Magtech .44 was. A salesperson helped me and I started for the checkout only to be stopped by a very nice lady. Then one of the guys behind the gun counter came over. I asked if they were asking me to leave and that all I wanted to do is get my ammo, pay for it and leave as I was running late and on my way up north. They said they were in fact NOT asking me to leave. After a short conversation I was escorted to the checkout so that I could pay for my ammo. I told them I saw NO sign, they assured me there was a sign. Iasked if they would show it to me.They did have a sign not above all public entrances but 1 sign way over on the right side. I entered from the left. I suggested that they should remove the sign as OC is legal in Michigan and this being a "gun store" I would think that they would be very Pro-2A and that I doubt that ANY of their other customers were truly afraid of guns as they wouldn't be shopping there if they were. I seem to remember something about the cops being called, but I stuck around a few minutes after paying (with a credit card so they would have my name) and never saw any.
On a side note:
While on our way up to the checkout we were stopped by another guy at the end of the isle. Just as we were almost to the end of the isle he jumped out and stood blocking our way. When he did this he took the stance of a cowboy ready for a duel. Pretty funny looking.
I was carrying my Sig 229 strong side and my backup .38 weakside....
Double Open Carry baby!
P.S. The Taylor Sportsman's Warehouse was only open for 8 months and is out of business now.
