Up until recently, i just carried concealed. I was uneasy about OCing. I guess 26 years of never seeing anyone carry a handgun in the open just made it seem odd to me.

To break the ice, i started OCing on a small scale...the convenience store...etc, etc. but i didn't have the nerve to OC in a place with more people.

Well, this past weekend, i was in Pahrump, and i OC'd the whole time...im Walmart...on the streets and it felt like a breath of fresh air. Pahrump is a much different beast then Vegas. it gave me the confidence to OC more.

Yesturday i worked up the nerve to OC in town in highly populated areas like a supermarket at dinner time and no one seemed to care aside from a few kids who's eyes got bugged out when they saw my side. Needless to say, i left the store w/o my heart pounding. it felt natural.

IMO, OCing is great because it builds confidence (esp. mine) and yeah, it's my God given right.

there are still places i wont OC in for obvious reasons. Casinos are one of them.

I don't think you can OC in Casino's anyway. CC either. Isn't there some section of Las Vegas that ya can't carry at all? 'Just askin'... 'Never been there (yet).

just court houses...the usual.

i conceal carry in casinos... was on the strip this past weekend entertaining family and was armed the whole time. OCing in casinos is not illegal, but you will be asked to leave.

You've stated my feelings about oc almost exactly. Just getting used to doing what I'd long stated as a right but done nothing with. I'm carrying more often now too and becoming more 'natural' (at least to myself) in doing so.

Here in Washington you have to have a CPL to transport a loaded weapon in any vehicle. Because I'm still waiting for mine I haven't OC'd yet. I'm probably going to CC for awhile, just until I get used to carrying a weapon in public, then start OCing.

Baby steps.:quirky

Gotta be 'legally unloaded' (no round in the chamber) to transport without a ccw/cpl here in Utah too. I just place it into a hard side CD case (I cut the sleeves out of the box) on the center floor of my car and flip the lid shut. Velcro sticks it to the carpeting it doesn't slid off while cornering. Easy to grab and reholster as I get out of the vehicle and leaving the box open lets any thieves know it's just an empty box.

If you live in Pahrump, you should OC all the time. Front Sight is just down the road and alot of students from the school stay in Pahrump and that means that OC is very common. When I atteneded the school I saw several people OC'ing in town and never was bothered by anybody.
