Yep and tied to Big Oil. Don't think the Dems will have fodder for her husband working for BP and the implications that surely will be present, think again...

Very likely true. As I said on the other version of this thread, we now have a Liberal-Liberal ticket versus a Moderate-Conservative ticket. The Moderate-conservative will win this one.

And as gun enthusiasts, who can resist an "M & P" ticket?

Why? (curiosity)
To be simple, I'll quote my wife.
Women = Emotional

I'll add that my family follows the Bible as close as we can. This too is against women leading men in the setting of the Presidency.

ANY FURTHER discussion you'd like to have on this issue can be donebelow,

http://p-o-o-p.org/

I will leave this though. Do I think that there are women who would be far better leaders than some of those punks in suit in the White House. YES I DO. I just believe it is not their responsibility. Same with the Military/Infantry.

Interesting...I've never heard this interpretation before. From what I understand (depending on what Scripture you're basing this on) women are not to be in leadership positions in the church.

I've been out of the church "scene" for over 8 years now though so I'm a little rusty. ;)

Like I said, if someone feels the need to challenge my own personal views, they can do so here - http://p-o-o-p.org/:)

You're right MetalChris, All it refers to is leadership positions over men in the church. I'll look it up and post it later.

Why do you guys insist on going OFF TOPIC ?

Eitherway, like I said, I'd be more than willing to debate this on the site i've mentioned earlier.

My wife's got some interesting points on the issue as well.

It's NOT off topic. The topic of the thread is the woman whom McCain choose for the vice presidential candidate. It would be natural to discuss our opinions on whether she would fill the position well. If her gender influences someone's decision, then we should most definitely discuss it.

the electoral college is one of the most important aspects of our govt. our system is NOT a democracy. it is a representative republic. democracy is mob rule, and always leads to socialism.
Sadly, the electoral college was forsake for mobocracy when we switched to the direct election of senators.

Here's the following Criteria for this thread.

Use this topic to discuss issues regarding the ongoing fight to preserve the right to keep and bear arms.

Can you show me how religion will fit into this ?

Eitherway, I've given my answer. ;)

Senators were never elected by the electoral college. Per Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution, "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, chosen by the legislature thereof, for six years; and each Seantor shall have one vote." In 1913 the 17th Amendment changed "chosen by the legislature thereof" to "elected by the people thereof".

I do agree however that 17th Amendment was a bad idea and should have long ago been repealed.

The Democrats are so scared of her, they're peeing themselves. Even the official Obama campaign reaction was so shrill that "The One" himself had to personally retract it. Last night on CNN, Jack Cafferty was so hysterical, he was the spitting image of "Baghdad Bob", railing incoherently about how her appointment was a "joke". Well gee, Jack, if it were such a "joke", why aren't you WELCOMING it the way a lot of McCain voters welcomed Biden? Obama was caught totally flat-footed and even his most servile fawning sycophants know it.

Predictions:

1. The Daily KOS people are barely one step up from NAMBLA and the Aryan Nations. If some of them haven't already, some of them WILL mock her Down's Syndrome kid. It's just not in them NOT to. If McCain has two braincells to rub together he'll be watching for that stuff like a hawk and rub Obama's nose in it at EVERY opportunity. O'Reilly's already got a grudge against the KOS and Huffington Post. The second anything like that appears, you can bet he'll make sure MILLIONS of people know about it.

2. Biden is an ass, PERIOD. He can no more NOT try to bully Palin than Rosie O'Donnell can not be morbidly obese and psychotic. THAT will sure win over a lot of female voters for Obama...

3. Palin's an NRA life member. Biden's a malicious, fanatical anti-gunner. Let's see, WHICH ticket are Ohio gun owners more likely to vote for...? Obama probably lost enough Ohio gun owners by picking Biden to lose the election. McCain picking Palin only made things worse for Obama.

McCain / Palin looks like a winning combination to protect and restore our 2A rights Alaska style!

Is it alaska that doesn't charge for CC ?
You can CC in Alaska with no permit just like Vermont but Alaska offers a permit so you can CC in other states that have CC reciprocity with it.

Besides, you're (dustin) the one that went off topic in the first place. ;)
