WILLIAMSBURG, VA (NBC12) - Police in Williamsburg and York County are on high alert after two women were abducted, robbed and in at least one instance, sexually assaulted, over lasteight days.
Investigators met Monday to compare notes in the case.
On Friday, investigators say a woman was at a Farm Fresh store in her car on the phone when a man approached her with a gun and forced her to drive him to an ATM.
Police say they spent several hours driving around and then the woman dropped the man off near the grocery store. Police wouldn't confirm or deny a sexual assault took place.
Police in Williamsburg sayfive days earlier a 26-year-old woman was driving when the man rose up from the back seat. He had a gun and forced the woman to drive to an undisclosed location where she was robbed and sexually assaulted.
Police say in both cases, neither victim knew her attackerand only a general description of a suspect. Police ask if you have any information about the case to call 888 LOCK-U-UP.
