New OCer in TN

I moved back to Nashville several months ago. In returning to my security career, I decided to not only get my armed guard license, but also my carry permit. I've been carrying openly for several weeks now and I've not noticed any looks. I go into grocery stores, gas stations, ect, all while carrying openly and not a word or noticeable look.

I've even chatted with a Metro Police officer in the busy downtown area (out of uniform) with my handgun on my hip and it is quite easy to see (Glock model 30).

You say you plan to get your carry permit, meaning you haven't gotten it yet. Keep in mind (sadly) open carry is illegal without said permit.

If he has a valid CCW from the state he moved here from, he's OK until he can get his Tn HCP.

I think that I may not have clearly stated my intention. I received my Tennessee Handgun Carry permit before I started carrying in Tennessee. When I posted yesterday, I was severely sleep deprived.

I've had the permit for several weeks now. It took much less time for me to get my armed guard license, though.
