I got an email today with this message contained within.
  1. Absolutely NO FIREARMS permitted on the Lazy Anchor Property!!!
Can they stop me from having my handgun with me and leaving it in the car? I think i have read this before but i can't find it now. They do not have any signs posted anywhere.

Yes...they can prohibit firearms from being carried on their property.

If they properly post a sign according to T.C.A. 39-17-1359, then it is illegal the moment you carry past that sign. If they don't have a sign or a proper sign then you have only violated their policy. But if they ask/tell you to leave and you don't, you can be charged with trespassing.
