I am new to the idea of OC and wonder about OC in N.E. KY, say, in the Boyd, Greenup, and Carter County areas.

Anyone here have good/bad experiences up this way?

rscottie, I live in Louisville and have open carried many times with little hassle. I got a lot of weird looks when I open carried in the "liberal" part of town, but no one said anything to me. I'm not sure what the population make up is where you are, but if it's anything like here in Louisville, you should be fine. Just make sure you're following all the laws for your area.

Rscottie - You just need to get up the nerve and do it. I stumbled across this site about a month ago and I didn't even know that open carry was legal in KY even though I had my CCW for 5 years. The first couple times you feel very nervous and think everyone is looking at you. It gets easier as you realize that this is your right and you know that you aren't doing anything wrong. Start off going to gas stations and work your way up to wally world and then everywhere else. Hell...Most sheeple don't even realize you are carrying and the ones who do don't say anything because all they see is a man with a gun. Good luck! :lol:
