Greqo,
There was no feedback when I posted in this section.
I was looking for a solution to the SERPA problem from members who had one. Not suggestion for another holster. You did not say you had a Serpa or this problem so the question did not pertain to you.
Always a condesending, smart A$$ comment....Always.
Your original thread was started on Thu Oct 2nd, 2008 at 05:16 PM. This second thread was started on Thu Oct 2nd, 2008 at 08:03 PM. Normally it takes at least a day before the forum readers have a chance to read and respond to your questions. Expecting detailed answers in less than 3 hours, and then complaining when that doesn't happen, is not exactly considered polite. Neither are personal attacks, come to think of it!
Anyway, your original threadreferred to "serpa/fobus TYPE" holsters. I think it's safe to assume that you meant rigid, synthetic holsters from ANY manufacturer. I have such a holster, that happens to be made by Safariland. Unlike other holsters, this one is lined with suede from the factory. This lining has effectively prevented the holster from wearing into the finish of my handgun.
With this information, one might conclude that one could theoretically line any rigid, synthetic holster with a suede type material to prevent damage to the weapon's finish. One may have to adjust the tension on the holster onceone does this, sinceone wouldbe adding bulk to the inside of the holster. As I stated in the other thread, at least one person has tried this, but the material was not strong enough and it eventually peeled. One shouldchoose an adhesive that will prevent the material from peeling. I'm sorry that you don't find any of this information helpful.
