TK Maxx, the British version of the TJ Maxx clothing stores, recently offered a line of Swiss-branded coats. Inside the coat, in its own little pocket and attached to its own little chain, was a 2.5" Swiss Army pen knife.

You should see the horror and outrage over this. I swear, all of Britain has lost any trace of common sense.

no crap right, I mean, what the hell are these guys suppose to defend themselves with nothing, does the UK Gov. actually believe there little world is just going to magically turn into a little wonderland all perfect and pretty if they take away weapons. If you take one thing away citizens will look for something else to arm themselves with, the UK Gov. is way over the line and needs to be put in there place by a bigger and more powerful country then themselves. They are going to turn into a 3rd world country not to long from now if there goverment keeps on doing this crap to there citizens. Give me a freakin break.

it's amazing how different our worldview is compared to there's. The idea that to us this teeny tiny blade could be, "a threat to someone's life," is absurd to our crowed advocating open carry of pistols. It's quite amazing and these people deserve what happens.

Really, I mean who woulda thought a little Knife blade was such a issue. Hell here in America we also have outrageous knife laws as well in most states, but if we are not felonies or anything of that nature we can just about walk or drive anywhere we want with a firearm. That weird if you ask me. Basically we don't have a amendment on knives so they make up any kinda law they want against knives.

of course we do:

dictionary.com:

bear arms,

a.
to carry weapons.

They rely on this definition for the term "arms" taken from Samuel Johnson's 1755 Dictionary: “1. weapons of offence, or armour of defence. . .

while it's not acknowledged, weapons are: hands, clubs, bow and arrows, rocks, guns, knives, swords, nunchukas, tanks, fighter jets, atom bombs, ect.

The amendment is there, unfortunately, we and our ancestors have allowed it to be systematically eroded and legislated away until few are are left and those are severely restricted. soon we will have great cause to worry:

"If slaves possessed their own arms and knew how to use them, it would not have been possible to keep them in bondage."

very true, very freakin true, now that being said Mr. ijsuam, we are going to become slaves of our own country if we allow the country to take our firearms. I always stick by Charleston Heston's motto,
I'LL GIVE UP MY GUN WHEN THEY PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD FINGERS
and that being said, I live by that motto , day in and day out, til I die. Mr.Advocate, I stand up for my rights, cause real men and women stand up for there rights, I follow into that intensely strong catagory.

I love the outrageous photos in the article showing a reporter (or whoever he is) intentionally mishandling the pen knife to make it look scary. Wouldn't you like to slap that guy in the face? And then the totally unrelated story about the boy who got stabbed by a totally unrelated thug with a totally unrelated knife. What a bunch of p***ies they are over there. Afraid of a pocket knife. The only part of the story that made soem sense was the guy who was worried he would get arrested for buying the jacket and accidentally trying to get through the metal detector at a soccer game. Of course, if I was buying a jacket, even in a hurry, I would check out all the features, first, so his excuse doesn't hold up, either.

I had fun rating the comments.

Seriously, though, I feel sorry for the olderBrits who nowrealize what their country has become, but don't have the influence or votes to change it.

A fireteam could take the whole country.

Lets divvie. Scotland for you. Wales for me. Northern Ireland for Longwatch. The rest of Ireland for Tex1n.

And just to drive 'em crazy, we'll give England to VAOpenCarry. With his temper the wuss'es will either clear out, die, or shape up along about the second Tuesday after he arrives. Should be fun to watch.

(He'll need help getting rid of the central bank, though. You know how he is with money.)

Britons must all be violent sociopaths, that's why none of them can be trusted not to go on a killing spree as soon as they get their hands on a pointed stick (or some raspberries).

But they've got a pretty good defence (spelling intentional) worked out.

First, they keep all their beer room tempurature.

Second, they intentionally keep from developing anything similar to a native cuisine with which you mighttry to order to go with your warm beer (just watch, anybody attempting to defend this will eventually mention "spotted dick" - and I can rest my case right there).

Third, while the females might be considered "frisky"a huge percentage of them put on more weight than should be permitted.

Even if you took over who would want to live there?

I wonder when they'll be repulsed by soup spoons?

I read they are already going after home fire extinguishers because the Government thinks people are too dumb to use them. Spoons may well be next, after all, every movie about medieval Britain shows everyone eating with their hands
