    Hello once again, everyone.

I'm a relatively new OCer, but a long time lurker here.

I'm a paratrooper with the 82nd, so I spend a lot of time on base, but when I'm off I like to OC, as my S&W M&P .45 fullsize is a little hard to conceal (I like OC'ing anyway). SO, doing my weekend errands I walk into a Hardee's (on Riley road in Fayetteville) to grab a quick bit. I'm wearing non-torn up jeans, a simple black T-shirt with a Logo, and white running shoes, OCing said M&P in a Serpa Blackhawk holster.

I walk 3 steps into the restaurant and the smallish woman behind the counter looks at me, looks down at my hip, looks at me, does the fish mouth, and starts running to the back saying something along the lines of "Oh ****!". The other employee (a rather large male) looks at her like shes crazy looks at me, looks at the gun, looks at her again, looks at me questioningly, all the while I'm shaking my head. At no point was my hand touching the weapon, niether was I making any facial expression except for a confused smile.

After the male employee calms her down, and I explain that no, you do NOT need a permit for mere possession of a pistol, and NO I was not a cop, and for a third time NO I do not have a permit, she calmed down and apologized. I managed to calmy inform the two cashiers and the grill cook to some intracacies of OC.

I guess the Media has really gotten to some people. Overall, a good ending though. No police called, no one hurt (except maybe emotionally), and some education dispensed.

    -John

That would have been hilarious to see. Still, I feel bad for the little woman who was so brainwashed that it scared her half to death to see a man with a gun...in the South.
