Senator Jim Webb wasin the radio ads today as "NRA member for Obama". He did refuse to support Obama or campain for him for quite a while and i had a lot of respect for him to standing by his values. But, he is on the dark side now too. Reminds me once again why you can never trust a democrat, even if he appears to be a good one... I just hope that NRA will bring his grade down from A next time he is up for re-election...

I heard the same commercial, Webb claims Obama supports our huntingrights, and will stand by him in protecting those rights. Webb did not mention anything about Obama protecting our rights to defendourselves.Webb is a fool.

With these types of people you must get them to define terms. By hunting they mean hunting BUT you must only bring out the long gun while you are hunting and then it must be stored with the extreme being just like the UK where they have to be locked up at a hunting club. They also don't address self protection with a handgun. But if they do "support" that, then they support it with LOTS of restrictions like "in the home only" or other restrictions like that. I thought Webb knew better, but I guess the party lure was just too much to resist. Glad I didn't vote for him.

Since the radical left is now in control of the Dem party, "pro-gun Dems" like Webb will be used as shills to mollify the gullible masses, while the real power brokers in the party prepare for some more "reasonable" restrictions on guns. Webb's pitiful comments about hunting when the issue is the 2nd amendment (WHICH HAS NOTHNG TO DO WITH HUNTING!) show he is just becoming another tool of his masters. I'm sickened but not at all surprised since this kind of chicanery is SOP for the Democratic (sic) Party.

I am dismayed that our Senator would make a bald faced lie in one of the few areas I trust him in. - EDIT - I guess make that trusted. Past tense.

How he can say that Obama - the man who proposed no gun sales within 5 miles of a school or a park, the man who would shut down 90-95% of gun dealers, the guy who even his running mate Joe Biden says is going to clamp down on concealed carry - is pro 2A and still look himself in the mirror, I don't know.

Yeah boy, he is sure one of them conservative pro gun democrats. :banghead::banghead:

Just like Warner.

There is some slimy shill on this site who always covers for the Democratic liers and their statements. It would appear he is conspicuaously absent at this time. Perhaps the heat (ane the reality) has become too troublesome to refute? I have no respect for Democratic (sic) politicians. After 50 years of being systematically bamboozled and lied to by these scum, I have no reason to believe anything they say unless I can independently verify it for myself. The party and its leadership is completely corrupt and not to be believed. Those who believe otherwise at this late date are "useful idiots" in the truest sense of the word.

Americans who vote for the socialist ticket will get what they deserve; unfortunately, if they win, the rest of us will suffer the same fate, and so will our children. They deserve better than Fabian socialism in this fine land.

God save this country if the socialists gain power and make the tactical error of attacking the 2nd amendment......

Dear Senator Webb,

I recently heard your endorsement of Senator Obama on the radio. I have no problem with you endorsing him for President - he is a member of your party and you obviously agree with him on many platforms.

I do, however, take serious issue with your claim that he will protect our Second Amendment rights. Barack Obama came out and stated that he thought the DC gun laws were reasonable restrictions. I don't know how allowing a total ban of handguns and requiring all rifles and shotguns be broken down and locked up at all times in your own home can be considered
reasonable. The Supreme Court obviously did not.

Finally, I am greatly put off by the use of the term "sportsman." The Second Amendment has absolutely, positively nothing to do with hunting and sport shooting. They are great American pastimes like baseball and football, but they are not protected by our Constitution. The Second Amendment is about the right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and in defense against a tyrannical government. As an NRA member and lifetime gun owner, I thought you would know that.

If you want to endorse Obama, that is fine. But don't spit in the face of gun owners and soil the Constitution with your lies while doing so,

Sincerely,
VT357
Chesterfield, VA

PS: Please don't respond with a letter. This government wastes billions already - save a stamp please.

I guess I'll be on another government list for mentioning a "tyrannical government." :?
