I wrote and called Webb.
When I called, the lacky wanted to assure me Webb "supports sportsman's rights, etc, etc" I said the 2nd Amendment nor ANY of the documents supporting our RKBA said a thing about tree-stands, blinds, meat, etc.
Definitely lacking on any particular knowledge about the issue, but the lacky at least responded to my questions.
Now, I get a response to my email. He cites that election laws: "prohibit me from using tax-payer funded resources within my Senate office to discuss issues pertaining to overtly partisan election matters."
Is there any truth to THAT anyways? I know I can't trust the guy now, but is he just piling on the lies in order not to get them into print?
Here's the text:
Dear Mr. XXXXX:
Thank you for contacting my office to express your opinions regarding the 2008 Presidential Election.
Federal law and U.S. Senate rules prohibit me from using tax-payer funded resources within my Senate office to discuss issues pertaining to overtly partisan election matters. I appreciate hearing from Virginians as I serve them in the U.S. Senate. I hope you continue to share your views with me and my staff in the years ahead.
I invite you to visit my website at
www.webb.senate.gov for regular updates about my activities and positions on matters that are important to Virginia and our nation.
Sincerely,
Jim Webb
United States Senator
