And doing it your way lets guys like Klinton and obama in that take away those rights you find so important. Where's the logic in that?
So does voting for folks like McCain, as you've admitted yourself. The difference is I won't compromise away my freedoms to keep the crumbs they wish to throw me.
So does voting for a guy that will can't win and never will win, make you smart? I doubt it very much. As to McCain, he is way better than obama and those are the only two with any chance of winning at all. So I would rather use my vote to stop obama than waste it proving to myself how smart I am. You know the lie to yourself.

I'll echo Thewise1 and others who have chimed in here: I'm not voting for Obama, but I'm certainly not voting for McCain/Palin. He does not represent anything that I believe in (including gun rights and property rights) and I don't think that she is qualified to lead a PTA meeting, much less the most powerful country in the world.

I'm a Republican precinct officer, but I will be voting for Baldwin.

So when you are thru helping obama win, please keep your mouths shut about what obama does to you rights, gun or otherwise.

Well, at least the third party voters didn't voluntarily pick whichrepublicrat would sponsor the NEXT Patriot Act that would make free speech a crime.

If you really believe a Demo Prez wouldn't have done the same thing? You are crackers. Almost all the Demos in Congress went along with it too, did they not?

It doesn't even matter anymore, neither McCain nor Obama represent the people. Either way we're all going to get screwed and there's nothing we can do about it. Sad but true. I'm pretty sure the founding fathers did not intend for us to have to choose the lesser of two evils every election. Having to pick a candidate based on who will take more of our rights away than the other is not a system in which I want to participate.

Your naiveté astounds me. There hasn't been a politician represent the people in the last 50 years. Why would you suddenly expect one to change in 2008? obama will make Bush look like a Sunday school teacher and McCain can't be worse than Bush.

Who I vote for has very little to do with my intelligence. I know plenty of very intelligent people voting for both obama or mccain. Their reasons are varied; some might argue that they would actually vote for Obama to help speed our failure as a country purely so that we can start to rebuild, because they feel that it's a lost cause at this point, continuously compromising away freedoms for other freedoms... I can see the logic there.

Let me be clear. McCain is not worthy of being president of this country, because he is willing to compromise my freedoms and my property rights. I will not vote for a man who will do that to me.

Ron Paul represented the Constitution, which is more important to me than representing a bunch of hippies, argumentative old guys, and guys like myself.

The only problem with Paul is he can't win. Otherwise I agree with you. Wishing for the impossible will not make it happen and in the mean time the demos are planning onstriping you of more of your rights and giving them to foreign national here illegally.

I feel the same about Barr, I agree with him on EVERY SINGLE issue. Something DEM/GOP has never afforded me. I'm not naive because you just agreed with me. Remember, we're voting for people that represent us. If I voted McCain, and he represents me, I guess I couldn't complain if he got on his soapbox and said, "BlueR1 says I can take away your right to choose, BlueR1 says I can bailout banks, BlueR1 says we need open borders, BlueR1 says we should keep forking over money to Israel, BlueR1 says I can take away his guns." now could I?

If someone asked me, would you like me to kill you now or torture you? I'd say I'm staying alive, and kick him in the nuts. You DONT have to choose something that harms you. Sure, you might get tortured anyway, but like I said before when quoting my grandfather, I'm going to fight like a rabid badger until I can't anymore.

Do you not see the irony in your comment? McCain can't win either, yet you want me to vote for him :D

edit: this state at least

We essentially agree 100%... only difference is I'm sticking with Paul as my vote because I think he could speak to our economic situation better than anyone, and also after becoming a republican precinct committee officer and donating $2300 of my hard earned dollars to his campaign, I feel like I may as well see it through.

McCaincan't win because all you third party votes hurt him and that helps obama. The irony of it is beyond belief.

The gun guys that watch this site probably know they have their agenda in the bag because we divide ourselves. With all this bantering we lose sight of whats is important.Has America made mistakes ?of course but I still believein this country and what that flag stands for.As one fellow said we sound like a bunch of relic hippies from the sixties. As for this election the country has been sucked in by Obama and his socialist agenda. You think you are losing rights now?Wait untill he takes office, free speech will go right out the window and in order to do that he will make every effort to disarm us.I think he will lead this country in to a faciast state the likes the planet hasn,t seen yet.Now we all have a wide divergence of opinions here and that is good. Some I can,t stand, some very good. But it is my duty as an American to guard them all with my life if need be..But to protect these opinions the first order of business is to protect our second ammendment.Which our founders also in their wisdom knew we had to have for this very reason. We would all need a platform we can all stand on and maybe getting back to the basics of the Constitution of The United States Of America will be a good starting point.Next election cycle and in 2 years we can look to other candidates that we think represent us better. There will need to be comprimise here guys by all of us in some way.Isn,t that what our founders did when they hammered out the Constitution (which is not a fluid document or negotiable)and bill of rights. But that would be a good place to start and We must stand firm as a cohesive group en masse and guard our 2a like pit bulls whereby guarding the opinons, rights and well being of all of us.And I won't apologize to any other nation for being an American and I still proud of that. Nor will I stand by and let a leader hand us over to the UN .Just imagine what it would be like here if we let it slip away ,our rights would be steam rolled into the ground like yesterdays garbage. While we all bicker these anti groups will wittle away at our rights a little at time and we won't even notice untill it's to late.

Paul can't win because all the 'gotta vote for the mainstream candidate' guys refuse to vote for him even though they willingly admit that their guy is the lesser of two evils.

Public Service Announcement: The lesser of two evils is still evil.

Anyway, fascist state? lol

Try socialist.

PS - If what you say is in fact true, then I hope Obama does win, because none of you do a damn thing about the slow erosion of rights with Republicans except rationalize it, so maybe you'll do something about a landslide of your rights under Dems.
